The International Scientific and Practical Conference
“The European Union at the Present Time: Problems and Prospects of Development”

From September 29th to October 1st, 2021, the staff members of the Chair of History and Theory of International Relations will organize an international conference at Dostoevsky the Omsk State University. The conference is devoted to the problems of the development of the European integration and different aspects of the European Union formation. The conference is the final event of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet project “EU studies for Russian education: schools, colleges, universities” (for more information please visit the website eusibschool.ru).

Experts from Omsk, Tomsk, Kemerovo, Vladivostok, Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Volgograd, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Irkutsk, Prague, Bratislava, Plovdiv will analyze in full-time mode the features of socio-political and socio-humanitarian development, foreign, trade and economic, financial policy of the European Union and the member states of the integration association.

The international scientific and practical conference is not only academic in nature. Within the framework of the conference, there will be organized the Model of the European Union, a role-playing game for students and schoolchildren, during which participants will discuss current issues of the European Union, acting as members of the European Parliament. The agenda of the European Parliament is formed by students based on the results of the conference, the reports presented by the participants.

The EU model is organized not only for students of secondary and higher education institutions. School teachers, university professors will act as observers and get acquainted with the practice of using game methods in the educational process. The use of this experience in professional activity makes it possible to form students` ideas about the peculiarities of modern Europe development using new interactive methods and scientific achievements.
