Participants learnt about the evolution of the “European idea”, the prerequisites, reasons and the progress of creating the integration association, institutional features and a unique decision-making mechanism, the correlation of national and supranational powers, and problems of the European integration. Besides, the study of the European integration process was presented in the context of the European and world history that helps to determine the content of international relations and their evolution to the modern stage.

The knowledge gained during the advanced training course helps to understand the role and place of the legislative, executive, and judicial authorities of the integration association, EU diplomacy and experience in reaching compromise solutions, principles and values of the European Union, EU-Russia relations. Knowledge on the development of the European project is also useful in the context of studying the Russian policy of integration interaction within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union.
